Eating out locally for vegetarians

We have known the area for over 10 years and have a wealth of knowledge of places to dine where good vegetarian food is served.  These range from the local chateau to the simple village cafe bar.  Below are some examples, and we are happy to provide further information during your holiday.

This superb restaurant is set within the grounds of the magnificent Chateau de Nieuil, close to Le Fayard.  This is an opportunity to experience a "Restaurant Gastronomique en Charente".  It is reasonably priced with a separate vegetarian menu.  The food, ambiance and service are excellent.  

Its reputation means that it is extremely popular and often full.  If you would like to dine there we can book for you.

In the centre of ancient Angouleme close to the town hall, Le Bien Etre provides vegetarian and vegan food and caters for special diets.  The food here is very fresh and they specialise in healthy eating.

The Passe Muraille is a small, atmospheric and very friendly restaurant set in the old quarter of Angouleme.  The good humour of the host is demonstrated by the chalkboard outside which proclaims "Vegetarians accepted" (just like credit cards or pets!)
